NOTICE FROM THE MWT EDUCATION DEPARTMENT:

Attention: parents & guardians of Indian children age 3 – grade 12! We need your participation to receive funding for The Johnson O’Malley program launching in 2025. Please fill out the student count form and return to Roxanne Mills Brown at [email protected]. no, later than May 30, 2024

The tribe may use the funds for Indian students to:
(a) Establish, carry out programs or expand programs in existence before the contract period that provide;
(1) Remedial instruction, career, academic, and college-readiness counseling, and cultural programs;
(2) Selected courses related to the academic and professional disciplines; or
(3) Important needs, such as school supplies and items that enable recipients to participate in curricular and extra-curricular programs; and to
(b) Purchase equipment to facilitate training for professional trade skills and intensified college preparation programs.

Funding is based on total number of eligible children reported to the Bureau of Indian Affairs/JOM Office. More than 600 student count forms will be mailed.
Other tribes have had this program for decades. DO YOUR PART! PLEASE RETURN!
