Summer 2026 Internship Opportunity: MWT Tribal Historic Preservation Assistant

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe is offering a 3month paid summer internship through its Tribal Historic Preservation Department (THPD). The MWT THPO Summer Internship provides students and early career professionals with hands on experience in cultural preservation, tribal governance, and regulatory review. Interns will engage in diverse program areas including archaeology, archives, museum operations, GIS mapping, Section 106/NEPA compliance, and NAGPRA. This opportunity is ideal for individuals pursuing careers in Indigenous studies, environmental science, history, planning, or related fields. Interns will work 20–30 hours per week at $22–$26/hour, based in Mashpee, MA with limited remote flexibility. Preference given to Indigenous applicants.
